Loved Gulzar's reply to why he didn't attend the Oscars in this morning's Bangalore Times. 'Kaala coat nahi mila,' he says. Cackle cackle. How could Raakhi divorce this man. Actually on second (and more mature) thoughts...how could he marry Raakhi!

Bitching apart, wish Rahman had thanked him a wee bit more publicly though...considering he's credited everyone from Subhash Ghai to his mother. Speaking of Rahmania, terribly glad that I'm not a Chennai based lifestyle journo at the moment. Friend working there says they've been asked by their newspaper bosses to dig up every impossible, unknown bit of info about him in the next few days or else...

my old bio teacher used to teach him. she says he used to slack big time on studies, so she used to scold him all the time, while he ignored all that and just made music. But now look at him! Goes to show just how efficient our education system is at filtering out the real talent and ensuring that they're left feeling like crap.

Actually I have always wondered if the singer and musician should have got the award for it rather than the lyricist. Because I don't know if those who judged would have really paid attention or even understood the lyrics, except for Jai Ho. In that case, it's the music and the way it was sung that would have caught their fancy.

I agree with Barkha. I don't think anyone would have understood the lyrics besides 'Jai ho' or perhaps 'Joy ho' as they would say!

Sonia: But his is an amazing rags to riches story na?

Barkha: Hmmm,,,I love Gulzxar so cannot agree with the lyricist bit in this case as I'm hopelessly biased :). But you do have a point.

Madhura: But Sukhwinder sang it wonderfully also na?
